Terms and Conditions of Engagement
As a condition of accepting an offer of employment from NSP Personnel, I undertake not to work for the client, its subsidiaries or another company for the client within a three (3) month period of the completion of this employment. Shift work and varying shifts are at the client’s discretion and may change during employment with 24-hrs notice. I understand that I will be employed as a casual on an assignment by assignment basis at the discretion of NSP Personnel P/L. While the length of an assignment may be indicated, this may change at short notice. I understand that I am under no obligation to accept these assignments.
Safety Equipment
I accept that safety is important during my employment with NSP Personnel and as such I undertake to supply and wear a High Visibility Polo Shirt and Safety boots at all times.
Absence from Work
It is the employee’s responsibility to communicate with the Client Company Supervisor first, and then NSP Personnel and inform them of the reason for absence be it sickness (a Medical Certificate must be supplied),or other, giving as much notice as possible prior to the start of work NSP Personnel has 24 hour/7days per week phone access. Your wages will be withheld until you contact NSP Personnel. If you do not contact NSP Personnel on the day, an amount will be deducted from your pay. Failure to do so may result in disciplinary action. First being verbal then written warnings if required. In the case of continued absenteeism, dismissal may be the result of your actions.
Drugs and Alcohol
The use of Drugs and Alcohol may impair an individual’s capacity to perform their job safely, efficiently and with respect for work colleagues. The effects of such substances in the workplace may result in the risk of injury or a threat to the wellbeing of the effected employee, other employees, customers or any other parties. No employee is to commence work, or return to work under the influence of Drugs and/or Alcohol. If you take prescription drugs you must check with your doctor to establish if the use of the drug will impact on your work performance. You may also be asked to take a Medical which could include a Drugs & Alcohol Test.
Wages
I understand that NSP Personnel has designated Monday to Sunday as their normal pay week unless otherwise notified, this being the case NSP expects that its employee’s will have their timesheets forwarded to NSP for processing no later than Monday afternoon following the finish of the working week. I may not alter in any way an approved time sheet. I understand that any alteration to an authorized time sheet may be grounds for summary dismissal and constitute criminal action. I understand that timesheets received after this time will not be processed until the following payweek.
I understand unless notified otherwise, wages are accessible Thursday each week. Please note: It is the employee’s responsibility to ensure their timesheets have been sent to NSP for processing. . I understand that whilst working for NSP Personnel some sites may require union dues or subscriptions to be de-ducted pro rata amount from my weekly pay. I further understand that if my assignments ends and I no longer wish to be a member of these unions I am responsible for cancelling my memberships.
IF YOU WISH TO CLAIM THE TAX FREE THRESHOLD ON YOUR WAGES YOU NEED TO SEND A COMPLETED AND SIGNED TAX DECLARATION FORM TO NSP PERSONNEL WITHIN 28 DAYS. FAILURE TO DO SO WILL RESULT IN YOU PAYING A NOTIONAL TAX RATE OF 48% ON ALL INCOME EARNED, IN COMPLIANCE WITH ATO REGULATIONS.TAX DECLARATION FORMS ARE AVAILABLE FROM MOST NEWSAGENTS AND AUSTRALIA POST OFFICES.
